Free Locator Beacons
The Fanwood Police Department is pleased to announce a
program for residents with safety in mind. While supplies last, emergency
locator
beacons are
available for Fanwood residents free of charge. The light bulbs are designed to
work in any standard socket or fixture. The bulbs operate as regular light bulbs
that can be quickly transformed into location assistance beacons. The special
bulbs when activated, will display a continual flashing until deactivated. To
operate the bulb, you simply turn the on/off switch of your lamp or fixture on
twice rapidly. To re-set or deactivate the bulb simply turn it off. If you are
interested in receiving one of these bulbs at no cost, contact:
Sgt. Tom Jedic at (908) 322-5000 ext 151 or by email at sgtjedic@fanwoodpolice.com.
Quantities are limited and the bulbs are available on a first-come, first-served
basis.
These special bulbs are designed to help emergency services
locate your home faster when responding at night. They are to be activated only
AFTER you have called for assistance by 9-1-1 or the 322-5000 number. For more
information or any questions about the bulb, contact us at your convenience.
