bulletI know I should replace the batteries in my smoke detector every six months, but how often should I replace my smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors themselves?

You should check with the manufacturer for the exact life of your specific smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector. You should replace the detector as soon as the warranty will run out. In other words, if it has a five year warranty when purchased new, then replace it in five years. On the back of the detector should be a manufacture date and/or a notice when to replace the entire alarm.

You should report traffic light problems to the Fanwood Police Department non-emergency number which is (908) 322-5000 option 5. You should be aware that most of the traffic lights at the intersections in Fanwood are on County or State controlled roads, and therefore are maintained by groups other than Fanwood's Public Works Department. All of Fanwood's intersections have more than one signal for each direction, so if one bulb is out there is a backup for safety.
