Midway Avenue, you will turn left on Woodland Avenue (a small road
before Midway Avenue) and go straight for one block to the park entrance
on your left. Forest Road Park has its own parking lot and the park
building is directly in front of the park, past the basketball court. If
you miss this turn on Woodland Avenue, you can turn left on Midway and
then left on Forest Road to get to the park as well. |

South: In Clark, Lake Avenue becomes Martine
Avenue once you cross into Scotch Plains. Continue through to downtown
Fanwood and go straight at traffic light over train track bridge (Dunkin
Donuts on your right). Continue straight through next traffic light and
straight at Fire Signal flashing yellow light at Watson Road, at the
next traffic light (Midway), be in the right hand lane and turn right
onto Woodland Avenue (a small road before Midway Avenue). If you miss
this turn, you will need to make a u-turn since there are no other
vehicle entrances to the park. Go straight for one block to the park
entrance on your left. Forest Road Park has its own parking lot and the
park building is directly in front of the park, past the basketball
court. |
 | East: From North Avenue in Westfield, continue past Lord &
Taylor, straight through two traffic lights, past TD Bank. Follow the
road as it curves left then right. Continue on Midway Avenue to the
right. The last intersection before the next traffic light is Forest
Road. Make a left on Forest and go straight into the park. If you miss
Forest Road, you can make a sharp right turn onto Woodland Avenue before
Martine Avenue, which is the major intersection at the next traffic
light. Then turn left into the park. Forest Road Park has its own
parking lot and the park building is directly in front of the park, past
the basketball court. |
 | West:
From Terrill Road on the Plainfield border, turn onto Midway Avenue in
Fanwood and then go to the next traffic light (Martine Avenue). Go into
the left turn lane. Just before you cross through Martine Avenue, you
will take the fork on the left to Woodland Avenue (a small road before
Midway Avenue) and go straight for one block to the park entrance on
your left. Forest Road Park has its own parking lot and the park
building is directly in front of the park, past the basketball court. If
you miss this turn on Woodland Avenue, you can go straight on Midway and
then take the first left on Forest Road to get to the park as well. |

 | Linden - Union County Fire Academy is located
at 700 Lower Road in Linden. From Fanwood, you can take North Avenue into
Cranford, then turn Right on Centennial Avenue into Linden and then Left at
North Stiles (fork at the traffic light). You will cross St. Georges Avenue
and also cross US 1/9. The area where the academy is located is in an industrial park with
a public works department in front and a long narrow driveway to the Fire
Academy (if you are coming from Fanwood on North Stiles/Lower Road, you will
pass a fence and turn right on the road right next to the railroad track). You will be
able to see the large fire tower as a landmark. Park near the trailer
classrooms. We strongly urge you to wear clothing that is warm and can get
dirty. All of the exercises are outside and much of the Fire Academy has a
coating of soot on it...Directions from any location to the Linden Fire Academy via Mapquest® |
