The Fanwood Community Emergency Response Team Howard Drewes is Fanwood's Emergency Management Coordinator for the Office of Emergency Management (OEM). He is a retired police sergeant for the Borough of Fanwood and serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Fanwood Fire Department. Katherine Mitchell is a Fanwood resident and founding member of the Fanwood CERT. She is also a Registered Nurse. Eileen Ochsner is a Sergeant with the Fanwood Rescue Squad. She is a NJ Certified Emergency Medical Technician. She is a Fanwood resident and founding member of the Fanwood CERT. Jim Baxter is with the Fanwood Rescue Squad and a founding member of the Fanwood CERT. He is a NJ Certified Emergency Medical Technician. Bob Murray is a founding member of the Fanwood CERT. He has also completed the majority of the Red Cross Disaster Preparedness courses. David Pickering is a Fanwood resident and a founding member of the Fanwood CERT. Lynn Sorf is a Fanwood resident and a founding member of the Fanwood CERT. Tom Palasits is a Fanwood resident. Etta Nappi is a Fanwood resident and professional grief counselor.
Instructors for our courses and additional elective courses John DiIorio is a Hazardous Materials Responder with the Union County Division of Emergency Management and a firefighter in Westfield. He has completed the CERT Train-the-Trainer program (G317). Jerry Fewkes is the Office of Emergency Management Coordinator for the Township of Clark. He is also a Deputy Fire Chief of the Clark Fire Department. Thomas Jedic is a Sergeant with the Fanwood Police Department. He has completed the CERT Train-the-Trainer program (G317). He is also a founder of the Fanwood Community Policing Alliance. William Kane is a Hazardous Materials Responder with the Union County Division of Emergency Management. He has completed the CERT Train-the-Trainer program (G317), and coordinates the CERT program for the New Jersey Army State Guard. Kenneth Lichtman, MD is the chair of the Department of Psychiatry at J.F.K. Medical Center. He is affiliated with Psychiatry Associates in Metuchen. Melissa Padulsky is a Captain with the Fanwood Rescue Squad. She is a NJ Certified Emergency Medical Technician. Michael Prasad is the training coordinator and team leader for the Fanwood CERT. He has completed the CERT training program and the NJ State Police CERT Train-the-Trainer program (G317). He has also completed FEMA's Basic Incident Command System courses (IS-100 & IS-195) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS), an Introduction course (IS-700) as well as numerous Red Cross Disaster courses. Paul Snyder is the OEM Coordinator for the Township of Piscataway. He is also a member of the Possumtown Volunteer Fire Department. Denise Neto is the Assistant Executive Director of the Tri-County chapter of the American Red Cross in Plainfield and a Red Cross Disaster Course Instructor.
