The Red Cross offers a number of courses that are valuable to CERT members,
especially those who want to take a leadership role, or advance their training
beyond the basic CERT training modules.
 | Fulfilling Our Mission - This is the basic introduction to the Red
Cross Disaster courses and volunteer opportunities offered through Red Cross
Chapters. This is the basic prerequisite course for all other disaster
courses. |
 | Mass Care Overview - The purpose of this basic level Disaster
Services training is to provide an overview of the activities performed by
the Mass Care group which includes providing food, shelter and bulk
supplies. |
 | Shelter Operations - The purpose of this course is to prepare Red
Cross volunteers to effectively and sensitively manage shelter operations as
a team and to meet the needs of people displaced as a result of a disaster. |
 | Shelter Simulation - The purpose of this course is to put into
action the principle learned in the Shelter Operations course and to prepare
Red Cross volunteers to work effectively with other volunteers and other
agencies. This class teaches you how to meet the needs of people displaced
as a result of a disaster locally or nationally. |
